MITRE's is seeking a Nuclear and Electromagnetic Effects Engineer who will provide technical support to a variety of government projects in the area of nuclear effects and electromagnetics. The candidate will work with sponsors to develop system requirements, perform technical analyses, and develop technical risk mitigation approaches. They will also support laboratory or field experiments, as required. The successful candidate will have a background in electrical engineering. electromagnetics or physics, as well as a strong written and oral skills.
Experience with EMI/EMC or RF communications link design/analysis is required.
Familiarity with atmospheric modeling in a nuclear/EMP environment, RF propagation, electromagnetic effects, microchip manufacturing process, and laboratory measurement practices is desired.
Significant analytical and/ormodeling experience with software environments such as MATLAB, IDL, etc.
An ideal candidate will have familiarity with at least 1 of the following areas:
Familiarity and working knowledge of EMI/EMC, and RF requirements development, design, and verification
RF system performance modeling
Familiarity of FEKO, CST or HFSS
Nuclear effects of Solar and EMP effects on RF communications 5. Co-site or interference of RF signals analysis.
