The Tooling Center Specialist and 480V Electrician will work at the West Chester, OH Tool Center. They will be responsible for … the inventory, restocking, maintenance and repair of the turbine and generator tool kits to support outage requirements and ensure

they are presentable and meet all safety, quality, company and government requirements.

These positions are for work in the US and are for Legally authorized to work in the US candidates. You must be able to pass a drug test and background check. Some of the physical requirements of this position are the ability to lift safely a minimum of 50

pounds, perform physical work-related activities, work safely at different heights, and wear personal safety protection equipment (PPE). Employees must be prepared to work in different shifts, as required, to safely complete the assignment. No relocation.


  • Work in a shop environment safely with zero accidents and/or injuries

  • Follow direction from tool center manager, cell leader and lead technician.

  • Keep and maintain accurate inventory records

  • Follow work instructions, tasks and adhere to site safety, quality, company and government requirements.

  • Repair and maintain all turbine and generator tools and containers and ensure they are clean and meet all safety and quality requirements.

  • Perform visual, electrical, mechanical, electronic inspection of tools, report and quarantine any non-complaint items.

  • Proficiently perform in depth troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of electrical/electronic equipment and systems up to 120 KV AC & DC

  • Intelligent understanding and practical application of standard industry and Electrical codes, regulations and practices, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA), National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), National Electric Code (NEC), Underwriters’Laboratories (UL), etc.

  • Intelligent understanding of electrical and electronic circuitry, diagnostics and industrial maintenance practices.

  • Proven experience with large electric motor preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.

  • Experience with proper installation, preventative maintenance of large pumps, fans and their control systems.

  • Intelligent understanding of PLC systems, trouble shooting, debugging and programming.

  • Intelligent understanding of analog of digital instrumentation systems.

  • Demonstrated ability with diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to repair and maintain test & industrialequipment and perform quality hand solder repair to the board or component level.

  • General maintenance welding and machining positions, conditions and environments.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to recognize, understand risks and operate all industrial and specialized equipment safely and sufficiently, including legacy analog systems and the latest Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems.

  • Perform shipping and receiving duties when assigned.

  • Operate Forklifts and other powered industrial equipment as needed.

  • Coordinate activities and complete projects to maximize safety, quality, productivity and compliance to GE policies.

  • Ensure a high level of professional customer service and support.

  • Safely utilize material handling equipment & techniques.

  • Ensure all work is performed with an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) mindset.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Strong Oral and written communication skills.

  • Previous experience working in team environments.

  • Ability to develop credibility with employees, managers, peers, and customers.

  • Strong Mechanical, technical, and analytical skills.

  • Turbine maintenance, generator maintenance or tooling experience.

  • Ability to learn, understand, and capable to implement all policies, practices and procedures.

  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools and equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability in meeting schedule commitments.

  • Ability to use various computer systems and applications, Microsoft office suite, asset tracking systems and online applications.

  • Process oriented mindset; self-directed.

  • Forklift driver experience.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work in a lean and fast-paced environment.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years 480V Electrician & Tooling Specialist experiencePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be required frequently lift, move, and carry objects up to 50 pounds.

  • May be required to walk/stand upright for periods of up to 12 hours and occasionally ascends/descends ladders up to 30 feet and stairs up to 6 stories.

  • Work for extended periods, including weekends and holidays, is also required.

  • May be required to work in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold) for extended periods of time.

  • Ability and Willingness and able to work shift and all overtime as scheduled
