In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your background in Data Warehouse Systems Engineering for our Us Consumer Markets business unit. You will be a key member on a team that is implementing cutting edge software solutions within the Information Management space. About the job:

  • Design and implement Information Management software and systems which support current and future directions.

  • Provide architectural leadership from the front-end to the back-end.

  • Communicate effectively with Liberty Mutual’s internal Hosting Services and become their trusted advisor for all things related to Information Management.

  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of our software and hardware environments including future releases.

  • Proactively provide technical and process-oriented suggestions for improvement and enhancements.

  • Forecast system demand, recommend upgrades, expansion and reconfiguration.

  • Reviews major architectural designs to ensure consistency, maintainability, and flexibility with respect to overall system, technical, and product architectures within Information Management.

  • Through market collaboration, investigates and forecasts business and IT trends to define the technical direction of current programs.

  • Participates in project and budget planning, oversight and delivery where applicable.

  • Analyzes highly complex system, technical and product issues to support ongoing operations.

  • Guides and directs vendor engagements and activities to include consultants and/or contractor deliverables.

  • Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with AWS platform and Cloud deployments

  • Strong background in Data warehousing technologies such as SAS, Microstrategy, Golden Gate,

  • Informatica, Teradata

  • Experience in large volume data warehouse environment preferred. Teradata, Neteeza, Exadata experience highly desirable.

  • Proficiency with scripting languages like Unix, python, perl or shell.

  • Experience designing and supporting data pipelines and ETL - ideally with Informatica, GoldenGate and Teradata tools and utilities.

  • Expert proficiency with Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems.

  • Proficiency with current monitoring tools – Splunk specifically

  • Experience with AWS, Hadoop, Chef and/or Splunk warrants high consideration

  • Creative problem solver and critical thinker.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Effective communicator.

  • Prior experience implementing physical systems and enterprise software.

  • Understands network architectures and their effect on systems and software.

  • Strong understanding of storage systems and protocols.

  • Engineering systems and software for optimal performance a must.

  • Prior experience designing and implementing security models for enterprise software systems helpful.

  • Solid time management and detail-oriented.

  • Must work well independently and in a collaborative team environment.
