JOB SUMMARY:

The Lead Operational Coating Operator assists production supervisors and other lead coating operators in the assignment, direction and problem resolution for tower operators and production equipment, through daily production tasks and operation monitoring. Ensuring all customers’ quality needs and expectations are met and exceeded.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Demonstrate safety awareness and safe work practices

Provide leadership and support on production tasks:

Assist/provide daily backup for tower operations (i.e., employee breaks, absences, and/or increased production needs)

Execute daily production sequencing, direct flow of operations and shift productivity per schedule and priority list

Organize, prioritize and assign own team’s daily work assignments (obtaining approval from supervisor when necessary)

Redirect work/tasks of team as needed while ensuring safety, quality and production requirements are being met

Ensure inventory plans, materials (raw and WIP), and tools needed for operations are available to team members

Assist with sign-off on all process operations

Complete all required QAD transactions assigned to the area

Assist supervisor in administering company policies, scheduling overtime, and scheduling vacation

Perform troubleshooting:

Problem solve production and operation issues as they occur

Correct and/or stop operation when necessary

Liaison between team, supervisor, and other departments (i.e., Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, etc.) to convey any identified production and operation issues

Collaborate with team, supervisor and other departments to resolve any identified production and operation issues

Identify, record and report non-conformance conditions

Conduct data mining and analysis of George Data

Perform Tower Operator duties:

Knowledge of Tower Operator job description duties

Demonstrate 5S housekeeping/organization within production areas

Willing to accept and receive frequent direction and assistance from various levels of management

Monitors quality and adherence to work instructions, standards and policies:

Complete visual inspections on material as necessary

Recognize defects, use proper descriptions and codes

Generate proper documentation as needed (paperwork for run sheets, QC Log-in sheets, process deviation forms, and process/product identification)

Other related goals and activities as may be assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or equivalent / Associates Degree (preferred)

6+ months Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Advanced troubleshooting techniques, product quality requirements and process control parameters

Accurately read a tape measure within 1/16 of an inch & convert to decimals

Intermediate mathematical skills

Advanced comprehension, communication, reading, and writing skills

Dependability and thoroughness, detail-oriented

Certifiable to operate forklift truck

Intermediate computer skills

Dependability and thoroughness

Production environment with regular exposure to noise and dust

May be exposed to cold temperatures and/or extreme heat at times
