Job Description

Given specific direction, provides configuration management (CM) and technical support to Engineering by administering automated CM tools. Assembles controlled software configuration items on designated hardware platforms/media and maintains controlled software baselines. Controls all build procedures to ensure reproducible baselines. Maintains an inventory and record of all software baselines sent to customers. May perform computer systems task assignments within Engineering including: software configuration management (SCM) tasks, performing software builds and tools systems administration for CM and Discrepancy Reporting (DR) tools; Computer Resource Management, identification, evaluation, and selection, including SW environment administrative tasks. PC database requirements analysis, design, development, and implementation; and other SW engineering development tool administration tasks. Tool administration tasks include script software requirements analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance, and tool configuration and installation. Sharepoint Administration including working with Export Control, Security and Procurement/Subcontracts

Functions as a configuration management technical resource to SW Engineering. Generates records for each customer delivered software configuration item. Reproduces, verifies, labels and distributes deliverable software.

Performs moderately complex software configuration management tasks including performing software builds. Uses automated CM, Discrepancy Report (DR) tracking and other computer-based tools.

Administers automated configuration management systems/tools, and maintains an understanding of configuration management practices and engineering processes. Attends program baseline meetings, providing all required documentation. Defines all resources (applications, hardware, software) and configuration management components needed to generate configuration baselines.

May perform SW work environment management tasks per the company's standard processes and reference documents. . Assignment may include moderately complex PC systems administration tasks to assist others performing Engineering work.

May participate in moderately complex PC-based database maintenance, migration, and administration tasks for applications internal to the Engineering Department. May participate in moderately complex tool administration tasks.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Knowledge of basic computer applications, databases, operating systems and hardware.

Familiarity with Configuration Management process and principles as well as tools such as ClearCase, ClearQuest, GIT and G-

Forge a plus.

Preferred Skills and Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent.
