Kforce Assistant Maintenance Manager in Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager in Portsmouth, New Hampshire (NH). Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Assistant Maintenance Manager will be responsible for supporting daily production operations in the areas of asset management, inventory management, and PM program management. As the Assistant Maintenance Manager, a typical day might include the following:

  • Supporting the Production team by working in a safe, customer-focused manner

  • Developing and designing innovative solutions to difficult problems, managing outside contractors and being on call for emergencies

  • Handling multiple internal and externally sponsored projects and daily activities, managing to and meeting deadlines, and developing and tracking plans on how to accomplish maintenance activities

  • Mentoring all facilities associates by motivating and providing direction to help them achieve their developmental goals and make a consistent effort to go above and beyond

  • Working with the Maintenance Manager and Finance team to develop, set and track budgets

  • Assisting the management team with capital spending plans, facilitating cross-functional project planning and verifying project completion

  • Managing work orders in the system, ensuring proper creation, planning, updating, and closure of work orders

  • Measuring and publishing facility KPI metrics to the management team, interpreting data, presenting findings, and recommending corrective actions

  • Developing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs and good working relationships with operations leadership

  • Responsible for daily management of assets, work planning, and spare part inventory

  • Managing the spare parts inventory and assisting management with work plans and auditing as required

  • Other duties as required

  • You ideally obtained a Bachelor's degree in Technical Discipline, Operations, Business Administration, or related field; however, we are open to someone with commensurate work experience

  • You have 10 years' experience in a maintenance environment, preferably food manufacturing environment

  • You have supervisory experience in a team oriented work environment

  • You have previous experience a maintenance planner / scheduler working within an industrial maintenance complex, manufacturing / distribution industry, or related field

  • You've done data analysis in the facilities maintenance program, specifically in asset management and spare part optimization

  • You are experienced in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

  • You are knowledgeable in Food Safety requirements and procedures

  • You are knowledgeable of OSHA and EPA regulations

You have knowledge of related maintenance principles, including but not limited to:

  • Fluid Power

  • Industrial Electric Power

  • PLC Controls

  • Building Construction and Design

  • Familiarity with public utility services and contract

  • Wastewater Treatment and Waste Management skills
