Job Title – Section Manager, Structural Analysis (Mgr III Mechanical Engineering) Job Description: The Platform Integration Department is seeking a motivated and driven Mechanical Engineering Section Manager with significant experience in structural analysis and design. The candidate shall possess a strong background in finite analysis methodologies and experience using finite element analysis tools such as ANSYS and NASTRAN in the modeling of complex mechanical/structural systems. Additional requirements for this position include demonstrated problem solving skills along with leadership, management, and proposal experience. Engineering managers will be required to make sound technical decisions, lead other engineers and manage to cost and schedule requirements of an assigned program. This position will require leadership a team of structural analysis engineers, as well as being the primary interface to other engineering disciplines. The candidate shall have the ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, cross functional IPT environment, with strong written and oral communication skills. Understanding and experience with mechanical analysis tools is required, including NASTRAN and ANSYS. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Lead analysis teams for many disciplined internal and external customers Develop and control schedules, budgets, risks, and opportunities Work with military, government, and commercial classification agencies in the development and certification of hardware and systems. Responsible for employee development, training, performance reviews, audits, salary and bonus compensation planning, manpower planning, and staffing of programs Responsible for the execution of internal and external programs, including planning, product development, technical risk management, and technical coordination between many disciplines Responsible for leading proposals for the Antennas and Sensors Department, and for MED Responsible for program technical reviews, briefings, and all aspects of financial management Develop internal and external customer base from proposal through execution certification Recruit and hire qualified new employees U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance . Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Required Skills : 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering 4+ years of experience in structural analysis US citizenship is required Desired Skills: Must be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering Experience with radar, antenna, or shelter design Demonstrated ability to apply mechanical engineering knowledge to solve complex design problems and make sound technical decisions Strong mentoring and leadership skills and demonstrated experience leading a team of mechanical engineers within an integrated product team environment Demonstrated project management experience and successful cost and schedule management of an assigned project Ability to interact well with other team members across various disciplines, including electrical engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program management Able to identify and communicate technical issues and risks that may impact cost, schedule, or other aspects of product design Demonstrated ability to multi-task and successfully manage multiple program activities at any given time Strong presentation and technical writing skills Experience with mechanical structural analysis tools such as ANSYS or NASTRAN Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Project Experience with proposal development and project planning Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and project financial analysis Working knowledge of military and commercial design, materials, and process specifications Raytheon (R6s) Six Sigma Certificati on Required Education: · Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline 115596
